Copper does not tend to react with other chemicals. This means that it is excellent at resisting corrosion. The copper pipes inside an air conditioner are constantly in contact with air and water at different temperatures. Most untreated metals corrode very quickly in such environment. Copper pipe with its anti-corrosion properties ensures that the air conditioner will not suffer from pipe cracks, gas leakages and other reliability issues and having a longer lifespan. Therefore, copper is preferred over other cheaper materials that are poor in resisting corrosion.

The inverter air conditioner is quiet in operation. Unlike fixed speed air conditioners, they do not require to turn off and on once they reach a set temperature, but rather adjust the temperature constantly, producing no or little sound.
The cost of the back-to-back aircon installation (i.e. indoor unit located on the other side of the wall opposite the outdoor unit) with available plug point for the 9000btu and 12000btu is R2699.00 (incl. VAT). The cost of the installation for the 18000btu and 24000btu is R2899.00 (incl. VAT)
External isolators and additional electrical work required any additional refrigerant piping, insulation, drain pipe and cable trunking to cover piping.
Please note costs of isolators are not included in the installation fee. Isolator switches are a regulatory requirement and are not included in the cost of the installation. A qualified electrician must install an isolator at your own cost. He must install the isolator not more than 2 metres from the condenser and within view of the condenser. The cost of this is in addition to the installation cost of the unit and must be paid directly to the electrician. Indoor and outdoor units must always be earthed.

A domestic heat pump with a real life COP of 3 (efficiency of 300%) will save you 66% of the electricity currently used with a normal electrical element. So, for example, a family of 4 with a 200L geyser is currently using R990/month to heat the water. If a heat pump with a COP of 3 is connected to this geyser and the current electrical element is disconnected then they will not only use R330/month to heat the water. This equates into a saving of more than R45 000 over the next 5 years.
